Well just to update this thread, the PCMCIA card arrived while I was at Lostock
... timing is everything!
But the good news is that this little gizmo is recognised as an LPT port in the laptop, and so my long exposure mod ToUcam is long exposuring!
I just need to learn how to drive it now!
Its a bit cloudy tonight, but I'll have to play, photos of anything in the dark should be a good start!
