Looking at your first photo closely, I think my problem is my shorter dovetail is too short. As a result, there are not enough drill holes for me to offset the mounting of the ST 80 from the ED 80 like you did.
So aside from the ADM adapters, I could also try for a longer length dovetail, which will give me more drill holes to play with.
