Looking good. I especially like the detail shown in M8.
I have been getting quite favourable results myself with the D800, though the full frame is a tad big for the optics in my scope.
While you're waiting for your remote, if you have a laptop handy Nikon Camera Control Pro2 has a 30 day free trial and will let you specify shutter speeds up to 1 hour. There's also an open source program called Nikon Camera Control which just started in May, however to date I haven't gotten the D800 to work with it.
