Frequency of collimation is not at all or as often as you want. For some folks, collimation is never an issue, yet for others yes. If you are not too concerned then you really don't need to worry. If you would like to squeeze every single photon you can out of it you have every capacity to do so. It wouldn't hurt to tweek the collimation every once in a while when you remember. Doesn't need to be laser quality either. Just knowing what to look for and eyeballing the process is enough.
I weighed this fellow tonight. The whole unit as you see in the pics comes in at a neat 5kg. Certainly doesn't feel like it to my surprise,
