Matt, I have the DC servo motor drive because I'm only interested in visual work. The stepper motor version is doubtless very good but is overkill for my needs. If it was on a dobs I wouldn't worry about the motor (I don't have one on my lightbridge) but with a long tube on a GC5 mount I think there would be just too much vibration to get a good focus.
