I found my TEC110 is a good scope for bird shots but its not particularly portable for lugging around in the bush. I suppose I could only just.
I'd estimate I could get that scale of shot from about 35 metres away which is a nice distance for birds that tend to be skittish.

These shots were taken with a 40D and a Canon EF 70-200 f/4L.
Thanks for the great comment on the Honey eater.
Your TEC110 looks very impressive, but at this stage light gear seems to be a good option for us.
