IC 1287 blue reflection nebula in Scutum.

Hi,

This was a tough one to image and process, but this is the best i can do at the moment with my setup.

I needed to do eight minute subs at ISO 800, to get enough to work with and this is pushing it. The canon 1100 D works best at five minutes ISO 800. I know too much black! but it was reasonably noisy and I was trying to mask this, even 18 dark frames would'nt clean it up.

There are two images, one has ticks showing the path of asteroid 1991 PO11 mag 16.7, so I was going pretty deep.

Telescope 8” f/4 astrograph on a HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Unmodded Canon 1100D at ISO 800.
9 x 480 sec subs ISO 800. 2 x 300 at ISO 800
18 dark frames, 11 flat frames and 11 bias.
Stacked in DSS and post process in Phototshop.
Cheers,

Justin.
