Thanks Asi, the wind shear prediction for my area was showing the highest possible level of wind shear so I had no expectations at all and it was certainly a pleasant surprise to see the live feed.

Initially I only setup to do some experimentation with longer than usual captures, processed with the WinJUPOS avi derotation facility. To be honest, I don't really see much benefit in going down that path. I think the higher frame rates that a large aperture allows, provides enough frames in good seeing to deliver a very hi res result without having to use excessively long captures.

Thanks Lucas, the "R" channel data was pretty good but the "G" & "B" data, although reasonable, was not of the same quality.

Thanks Ray, the GFS Jetstream charts were the darkest blue to black swinging down over Broken Hill but this data would seem to defy that scenario. Reckon it really does underline just how inexact the predictive powers of these computer models really are.

Thanks Paul it was certainly a better than expected result. At the moment, regarding the imaging conditions for Saturn, I think the steadiness or not of Arcturus is a fair guide and I did note very early on that Arcturus did appear steadier than it has been for a while and as it rose it got even steadier.
