One further comment on 3D CGI... I found its use in this movie disappointing in some parts. 3D adds to the sense of realism if it is realistic. It detracts from the sense of realism if it is not. Rendering planets as spherical objects is not realistic, it just makes them look artificial. Foreground objects (such as space craft) presented in this context are perceptually reduced to the scale of miniature toys.

Large objects at huge distances look huge and distant when they are focussed at infinity and have zero stereopsis effect.
