Some Longmore Planetaries

2 good nights allowed be to grab 2 Longmore Planetaries
last night I got Longmore 7 after reading the Andrew James article about it in "Neat Southern Planetaries" in the ASNSW Universe publication.

Lo7 is 8x10 mins

I stopped when a meridian flip was necessary and moonrise was imminent.

While looking through Star Atlas pro I noted Lo-5 not far away, it lookedok in the DSS image I downloaded.

Looking around I see Stevec35 has a nice image of Lo5 too

Lo-5 is 15 x 10 mins. Full size here
Seeing was better then previous night. Im pleased to have captured the red HA I assume patches in Lo-5. Note the vivid blue central star.

Both taken with modded 350D, ISO400, LPS filter and Baader MPCC coma corrector. 10 inch f5.6 newtonian off axis hand guided.

I love these chilly winter nights where it gets dark so early, allowing me to start as soon as Ive had an early dinner. A freezer suit keeps me nice and warm.
