Venus Transit animation

Hi All,

Was up at 5:30am to setup, the sky was clear but as the Sun rose the fog rolled in spoiling the first hour or so. Later it cleared to be a lovely day, albeit pretty brisk.

Have attached a crop of 3rd contact. Just as was the case back in 2004 there was no black drop effect. Cook wrote in his diary that on the day of the 1769 transit the temp was 117 degrees F. I think the temp may well have contributed to poor seeing for Cook which may account to some degree for the black drop effect that he reported.

Have also attached a link to my animation. In an attempt to reduce the file size I have resized all the images in the animation down by half but it is still a large file. Note; it is just under 9 Mb and may take several minutes to load.

Thanks for looking.
Regards
Trevor
