Hmmm my first post here ...

Well, just arrived in Hay after an eight hour drive from Sydney. It's as flat as a proverbial tack here and apparently there's a sunrise/sunset lookout about 16km's out of town. There's a little under an hour between sunrise and the transit from this location but given it's so flat it shouldn't be a problem.

I've brought my 80mm short focal length erect finder scope and an Orion 80mm filter. I use a 13mm Plossl and voila - one highly portable solar scope. I mount it on a camera tripod. I've also brought a longer focal length refractor and a mylar solar filter for my better half.

About 50% cloud cover here ATM but it's clearing rapidly
