Red-rumped Parrots (Psephotus haematonotus).

I photographed these on the job today in Canberra's south. I've seen them around the state from time to time, but it's been one of those species that has eluded me because of bad timing. (Not carrying the camera).

Curious passers-by on foot and in vehicles twice approached and scared them off because they saw me crouching on the ground with a big camera and lens.... bloody annoying.

This is why I wear a ghillie-suit in the national parks, to stop people coming over and spooking a critter I have just spent time stalking to get close.
