Kearn the structure was built by some eccentric local artist who remains anymounous and provides shelter to bushwalkers hiking the tracks along the kalgan river that flows into Oyster harbour and onto King George sound. Beautiful area with an interesting history in regard to explorers and settlers and of course the local Aboriginal people. The original name of the river was french after Nicolas Baudin came through the area and was later changed by the British who called it the Kalgan after presumably a species of frog of the same Aboriginal name thats found in the upper reaches of the river
