New improved version
Following the advice here, I have reworked the image, recalibrating the colour. From what I can tell two additional criteria are needed - longer sub exposures and longer total time.
Lens is a Canon 200mm F/2.8 L USM @ f/4
Not sure how it will look on other monitors.
