there is a Supernova in NGC 4945, discovered late last year, SN 2011ja

Thanks Trevor. Always good to receive feedback. It's funny when I got to work I checked out the image and it appeared exactly how you described. A repro using layer mask techniques is definitely on the cards as I reckon the raw data is reasonable and worth the time!
