I've posted a few aurora pictures and a very short time lapse video from our trip to Scandinavia previously. Here's a longer video containing all the best bits. I finished it a few weeks ago but since one of my colleagues from the trip was using the video in a NACAA presentation I held off posting it until now.
These images were captured over three nights in late January when we saw the Aurora at Lyngen Fjord and Tromso in Norway during the "Fire in the Sky" tour with Fred Watson.
The camera used was a Nikon D700, 14-24mm f/2.8 zoom lens mostly at 14mm and wide open. Exposures were usually 10 seconds. They are being replayed at 5 frames/second.
I wasn't actually intending to do a video at all but when I tried stringing a few frames together I thought they looked OK. I'm really looking forward to seeing Phil Hart's videos from the Yukon to see what a professional can do
