You may be right there Tony as Luke at Andrews mentioned something similar when I brought this one .
The optics in mine are first rate ,and at 200x give a perfect aeiry disc with one faint ring , and the in and out of focus are very similar , just a little spherical aperation seen at the 200x on the outer ring , very , very small and I aint bothered by this .
The moon last night was totaly colour free and when it was just out of the field of view of my 22mm Pan the light scatter was very well supressed , also the sky was black around the moon so the baffeling is of a good design and well exicuted . .
All in all for $850 delivered its a great scope , sexy and very well made , small enough to be carry on luggage .
Oh yes one more thing the focuser is very good out of the box , a seldom seen thing on todays mass produced chinese scopes ..
I am extremely happy with it .
