Indeed Trevor. It has been nothing like the 2003 apparition, has it LOL. Even at opposition this time around it still wasn't overly easy to capture a good image unless luck was on your side & everything was dialed in nicely, along with a bit of grey matter usage.
My imaging did a 'sudden leap' by purchasing the new 618 chipped cam, & the creation of AS!2. I myself, have been doing nothing different except maybe get a little more precise with how I align & stack.
Finding out that Registax Debayering was not overly good for debayering this cam's Y800 data, & the subsequent revelations revealed to me upon further investigations has really opened the door as well. In fact I'd say it's the most exciting single thing that's happened to OSC imaging in many years.
Bottom lines: Thanks to the creators/writers of certain programs, the creation of certain camera's & hats off to the people not willing to except things as they are; do research behind the scenes; do experiment; do publish their findings for the benefit of all.
