Hi Peter,
At work we use a Bosch line laser for marking straight lines on aircraft before painting, no idea where they got it but it is an industrial unit and throws a green line the full length of a Bell JetRanger helicopter from about 10 metres away, it's exactly how we painted the red stripes on the yellow Westpac rescue helicopters. It has mounting brackets as well for mounting on machinery etc. Google it, I'm sure you will find it.
