Sorry but I don't think you have all the facts at hand. You are actually wasting at least 60-70% of your potable water and there are also considerable long term health risks associated with drinking this water. See http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_...ineralized.pdf
Just for your information but it's a very wasteful process and really not needed in my opinion.
