It looks a bit dull on my screen (could be me) but I think the full Moon should be brighter?
Thanks for sharing.
I deliberately only exposed for 1/1000th of a sec x 15 images Matt, at ISO 200 it tames the brightness and allows more detail to come through. I havent sharpened it, simply stacked and applied wavelets in Registax 6. Any brighter and it blows out on the face so the maria are hard to see. Thanks for the comments!

Hi Steve, this is at 3888 x 2592 resolution (10MP) on the Canon 1000D through the 1000mm focal length reflector. I cropped off the edges of the frame to just outside the moon's limb, so as you view it here, it blows it up to fill it to the screen which is probably why it looks so big. The extra resolution of the DSLR also helps keep the details when it is on the PC screen as most only view at max of 1680 x 1050 ish (WSXGA), so the native camera res is just over twice that of the screen on full frame!

Thanks for the comments,

Cheers

Chris
