Nikon D800 and D800E RAW samples at high ISO.
Conclusion is ISO6400 is very useable. Plus with 36mp downsizing is possible to go higher and make them useable. These are RAWs without noise reduction, not in camera jpegs that have been noise reduced.
Seems 5D mark iii low noise high ISO advantage has been matched with D800 but oddly Nikon hasn't played that aspect up whilst Canon has pushed it hard. Obviously a marketing strategy when you've been outdone by your competitor.

My gut feeling now is that this D800 is going to be a massive win for Nikon (they are already experiencing massive demand for this camera)and will be untouchable by any other camera and a clear leader in the DSLR field. 36mp and a useable ISO6400 is a fantastic engineering achievement. Thanks should really go to Sony for making such a fabulous chip.
I am hoping to have one of these in less than 2 weeks. I'll post a review of it.
