Things are pretty weird around here. First the sky changes colour for its normal grey to something that might be blue (I had to google the colour, it appears it is common for the sky to be this colour
), then I was able to get the scope out without being washed away.
Anyway, did some ordinary planets last night, then tried my hand at the sun today. The full aperture was too much for the camera and I had to stop it down to about 25 mm. I would have liked to play with the focus a bit more, but I slipped and sprained my ankle just before the mask was ready. Middle child Hadar snapped the shots while I waited for the ambulance.
The illumination of the disk is a bit asymmetrical and probably due to the position of the mask, but I wasn't in a position to play with it. Just happy with what I ended up with.
Sooooo long since I had the scope out.
