G'day all,
I had some great fun photographing aurora australis from the hills of Perth last night:

The moon obviously had a huge impact, reducing the visibility of the aurora from their full potential, but it was just great to get some aurora photo's again! It's been a long time. Also a very pleasant evening to be out photographing them.
The photo doesn't show the full story really, I've had trouble stacking the images without washing out the less persistent areas of aurora with brightly moonlight sky. Flicking between the 15 exposures it's obvious there is more aurora there than easily seen in this photo but I just haven't managed to get it to jump out at you in this photo. I think some extensive masking work is required, I probably won't spend the time doing it.
A time lapse I might do, but I only have 15 exposures with the aurora, so it would make for a very short time lapse
Enjoy
Roger.
