Meade Lightbridge Deluxe 16" Dobsonian package FINAL PRICE REDUCTION

Hello all,

It is with great regret that I need to put my telescope up for sale. A combination of having had a back operation on a herniated disc last year as well as having two young children means that I am unable to provide the love and attention that this telescope deserves.....hence the sale.

The package consists of the following (RRP as new listed in brackets);
Meade Lightbridge Deluxe 16" Dobsonian Telescope ($2000)
refer: http://meade.com/lightbridge

AstroZap 16 inch light shroud ($115 delivered from US)
refer: http://astrozap.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=251

TeleGizmos 365 series cover T3LB-16V ($180 delivered from US)
refer: http://www.telegizmos.com/365%20size...20page%202.htm

TeleVue 17mm Ethos 100deg 2" ($769)
refer: http://www.bintel.com.au/Eyepieces-a...oductview.aspx

TeleVue 26mm Nagler Type 5 2" ($649)
refer: http://www.bintel.com.au/Eyepieces-a...oductview.aspx

Televue 2x Power Mate ($329)
refer: http://www.bintel.com.au/Eyepieces-a...oductview.aspx

Orion LaserMate Deluxe calibrator ($99)
refer: http://www.bintel.com.au/Accessories...oductview.aspx

Orion variable polariser ($50)

Also comes with the Meade AutoStar Suite with camera which I never used ($65)

If purchased brand new this would total $4256. I probably don't need to explain how magnificent viewing through this telescope and eyepieces can be. The wide field of view offered by the 2 inch eyepieces needs to be seen to be truly appreciated. It really does take your breath away.

Everything that I am selling is in mint condition with the exception of the telescope mirror and minor stains on the telescope cover. The mirror once collected a bit of moisture and when it dried it left small spots on the mirror. I have tried to wash these off gently without luck. This however has not impacted on the viewing experience at all. The telescope cover has some stains on it as well but these can likely be washed off. This cover is the 365 series which is designed to protect the telescope 365 days a year in US conditions (sun, hail, snow etc.). You can literally store your telescope with this cover and nothing else. Despite this I have always stored the telescope inside my roll off shed.

For those not familiar with these telescopes please be aware of the size. I am 187cm tall and this telescope is taller then I am when upright. It is MASSIVE. An absolute light bucket in the true sense. It can be taken apart as explained on the Meade link for portability and I have transported it easily in my Hatch back with the back seats folded down. Setting up is also very simple.

Due to the size and weight I am only offering it for pick up. I live in 20km West of Melbourne CBD. If you want to organise your own courier then please do so.

The price I am looking for is $3000. I am not prepared to separate the package.

Please feel free to contact me regarding any questions that you might have.
