Hi Warren.
If you remember that by using the wedge you are aligning with the North (or South) Celestial pole, I think it makes sense.
The Celestial pole being over the pole, if you lived on the equator (Lat 0*) you would need the wedge to point the scope 90* to align with the Pole. Right?
Whereas, if you lived at 90* you would have no angle on the wedge as it would point straight overhead.
Or have I missed something?
