Yes, I think most aperture fever is actually aperture envy, pity. Only briefly & mildly infected, and not coincidentally when I first joined IIS, funny 'bout that!
Got over it very quickly though with no harm done. Astronomy's about enjoying what you're seeing, not worrying about what you could be seeing or what somebody else might be seeing.
