I agree , an eq2 or 3 would not be up to the job , all you will get is frustration .
I have an eq2 under my 60mm scope and its perfect and owned a celectron HD102 refractor and its eq3 was just sturdy enough .
Are you sure you need an eq mount? how about knocking up a dob mount for starters
, at least you will be observing for less than $100 and saving your dollars for a sweet 2nd hand EQ6 that pop up here all the time .
10 inches it a great size , hang in there and good luck .
