Different kind of Fire Works......
The Australia Day
Skyworks show in Perth is ( accordingly to media) the biggest fireworks display in all of Australia!
( side note: Went to Melbourne a few years back with family, thinking there would be a big show on for Aus day. After booking a river viewing suite et al, found out that most people in Melbourne did not know there was a fireworks display on for Aus Day
. In the end it was a pitiful display that lasted stuff all. The gas explosion lanterns (?), near the casino was more entertaining!)
This morning (7 am when I saw some clouds) I had a thought that if there was a thunderstorm tonight, what would happen to the show?
And yes, we had storm cells circling Perth. Just before and during the Skyshow.
I took some pics ( again
yes) of the lightning from my
backyard and a bit of the front.
Had to keep cleaning the lens due to small rain drops.....
Not as good as the
previous ones.
These are more knotted /knurled and cloud orientated.
Lotsa moisture in the air too....
and this time I was a bit more apprehensive too. The bolts were above me ....... not hitting the ground but still close....
