Capacitors in Series halve the capacitance.
Capacitors in parallel double the capacitance.
Resistors in series double the resistance.
Resistors in parallel halve the resistance.
All this assuming you use all the same value EG: 2x1uf and 2x10 Ohm.
So you get 0.5uf and 2uf.
And 20 Ohm and 5 Ohm.
