The Moon during the day through a scope

I've got a 12" GSO.

One day we had some friends over for lunch.

They were wondering why I had a 'hot water tank' in the living room. Well, the moon was up, so I pulled the scope out and we all had a look through, just to show them it wasn't a hot water tank!

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The contrast was terrible, as you'd well imagine with the diffuse sunlight, but it was still quite interesting.

Are there any particular filters that make viewing the moon during daylight hours a little better?
