One other problem could well be the condition of the line into your house. I had problems with mine as the cable was old(ish) and the insulation had cracked allowing water/corrosion into it resulting in lots of drop outs caused by wind/rain/temperature etc. Might be worth getting a tech from telstra to replace the feed in line.
