Ok,
This what I did. I located a previous version of focusmax 3.2.1 and loaded that after deleting the current version of focusmax. Set it to run in compatibility mode for VISTA and then tried. Bingo... up she came and straight to the first light wizzard.
Not bad for several hours of ripping my hair out.... Not much available to start with...
