More Comet Lovejoy

Even though I said the last post would probably be the last set of wide field images, it was clear last Monday and some of the other locals had posted some pretty nice images. So I took a trip down to the beach to take some more.

The processing was quite involved, just getting the 60 odd 30 second exposures to stack properly took until yesterday. I had to use Registar to get the stacks to align, then could only do 10 or so subs at a time. Painstaking, but the only way I can do long exposures.

The pics are a 30ish minute pic at 11mm, another 30ish minute pic at 16mm and a five minute pic at 11mm in landscape.

The comet was barely visible to the naked eye, but the transparency wasn't that good.

Awaiting some decent weather to get some telescopic views.

Cheers
Stuart
