As mentioned before, 2 hours after sunset, look for the brightest star in the sky. If this star does not twinkle and has a yellowish colour, it should be jupiter. the big plantet normally shows 2-3 distinct cloud belts and the 4 galilean moons. The moon should be a great target as it reveals a wealth of detail.
