Just reading that this supernova (2011ja) is now mag 12.2and rising. Visually this is well within reach of just about all amateur scopes. If this isn't an absolute photo opportunity in a gem of a galaxy I don't know what is. Go for it IISers and send your images to Dave Bishop at the bright supernova page, he will appreciate them! I might place this also under deep sky imaging.
