Hi all, not 24 hrs after I ordered it from Bintel Sydney I have in my hot little hands a spanky new 2in barrelled 4X Tele vue Powermate...
it's big, black and shiny.
Actually it's Very big. I'm thinking of a 35mm panoptic too and I reckon if I put the two together my scope will keel over in protest
Anyway, the plan is to use this to get some serious image scale in planetary imaging using the C9.25 on those nights when seeing in good to excellent. The 2.5x powermate I have could do with a bit more oomph, and the 5x (as Rumples has pointed) out is rarely viable with the SCT unless the seeing is truly exceptional.
Now if I could just see the sky I can let you know how it performs
