Sweet thanks mate - I still would like sharper, but I'm just greedy. I think LF really is the next logical step.

The polariser (as with all 105mm polarisers to my knowledge) are designed specifically to mount on the front of holders and things like this. B+W make plenty of quality filters as I'm sure you know already, but of course the best thing about using this is that you don't need to worry about different lenses having different thread sizes and henceforth needing a filter for each size. I'm assuming there's a reason you don't like the holders? you prefer just to hold it infront for quick-ness and less assembly before you shoot? FYI I know a few people are discouraged by the holders when they want to shoot really wide - they're worried about vignetting, but it's all in the setup. I can shoot at 10mm (16mm 35mm equiv) with 3 filter slots in use and the polariser on the front without any issues!

The V700 or 750 will do you wonders. The only advantage as far as I know with the 750 is that you can wet mount your negs, though everyone I've spoken with doesn't seem to think it makes a huge difference.. however I'm sure it must else they wouldn't have created another middle just for that. Is the 9000 the canon scanner?

edit: Damn sorry for the thread takeover JJJ! Was completely unintentional... but we blame you for posted the pic of my RB and getting us all worked up on a gadget rant.
