I own a imaging newtonian and the only real difference that there is, as far as I can tell, is that for visual use you must use a extension tube. Luckily for you they generally come with it as part of the scope package. For taking photos get a Coma correcter and a Canon T-ring, these will screw into each other as far as I can tell. Focus wise try to have the body of the camera as close as you can to the end of the focuser is what I have found works.
