Marty this year you are right there has been a truly depressing amount of cloud cover. But in the two previous years I was out two or three times a week. To give you an idea of the skies where I am I completed the M-110 in a 4.5" short tube reflector and I have confidence that I can catch a life time of seeing in our 8" Lightbridge. The Veil Nebula sans filters, and with just a little averted imagination I have almost seen the Pillars of Creation with 8". On a good night I can see mag 6 stars no problem. The major problem here for astronomy is the lack of stores. IF I buy it is imported and the shipping can be a problem.
