lx200 homemade wedge

Hi All,

In the process of designing a wedge for the lx200 12".
I want to keep the centre of gravity of the wedge / scope combination directly above the centre of the pier as much as possible. so my question is, for a latitude of 35 deg south, how much would i have to set the wedge forward of the pier base so that when the scope is in the polar home possition, the settup is reasonably ballanced?

Ive heard that the declination axis should be above the centre of the pier to achieve good enough balance, but i would like to hear others opinions also.

maybe someone with this setup already could coment on their design?

thanks
Josh
