Good images, and thanks for pointing out the spot. I think it is also just visible on your 12:49 image as well, but very indistinct. Interesting that it is not visible at all in the IR images, but I do not know enough about Jupiter to know what this means.

I have (one of?) the Pic du Midi image(s) I think Ray is referring to, and yes, it does have a spot of similar size and appearance, on the south edge of the NEB.
