I Peter, I hope it works out better than the 1st.
I have just replaced mine with a moonlite with all the bells and whistles and am very happy with it. I didn't have any probs with the original but had only used it twice and didn't have a cam or any wieight on it. It worked better than I expected it would after reading a some of the previous posts on here about the focuser, but I replaced it any way.(I like pushing buttons)
There is prob no point but if you would like to borrow the original focuser to try/compare your more than welcome, suppose it depends on how long its going to take for the replacement to arrive. Its the CF version.
