Adapters for DSLR onto Newt

Hi guys. I Used to use a Large Tmount ( i think thats what its called) to mount a dslr into the eyepiece recepticle on an 8 inch newt. It is the type that slides back and forth to gain magnification. Last night i tried it on my new scope, a GSO 8"f5. I think the mount is too long, ie far away from the secondary, all i can see is the spider and bright circle around it.
What other ways can i get the DSLR into the action??

Thanks and please excuse my ignorance.. Ive been out of it for a while.

Cheers
