For quite some time had been reading Astronomy at the public library. I just didn't think it was worth buying. This situation seems to have changed for the better. I recently took up a subscription again after about 4 years of (in my judgement) very poor quality science journalism. The last 6 months of Astronomy have been brilliant IMHO. I am really enjoying their articles again. Astronomy's strength has always been their easy to read feature articles. In contrast, S&T's strength was their departments.
It was facinating to get a peek inside Televue optics and how they operate. Al Nagler has redefined the eyepiece. And the historical stuff Astronomy is now including are very enjoyable. It might be a smart idea to give them some positive feedback on this, so they keep up the good work.
