Pam. Buy the time your ready to go up a level you'll be starting to get an idea if you want to stay with visual or try your hand at imaging. If you want to stick with visual then there are plenty of options for going up in scope size. If you want to go imaging then mounting an 8" on a suitable mount won't be a problem. Just be aware that a truely suitable mount (min EQ6) would cost more than a 12" dob
