We just laid our turf a few weeks ago now and we didn't roll it either or film it.
Us walking on it and the dogs running over it has been enough I believe. I did read after a week or so to go around and see if the lawn lifts up to check if roots have taken to dirt. I noticed a couple of patch's in ours that lifted so i just put some top soil on the areas and watered in. Seems to have worked.
