G'day mate. I bought some washers yesterday and tried this arrangement. It's awesome! As you say, the central bolt is no longer fighting the collimation screws. Collimation was much quicker and easier, and with some big washers between the collimation screws and the secondary holder, I can also get much smoother rotation for fine tuning. Thanks. Can't believe I hadn't tried it sooner.
