Thanks John. My EQ is very high! When the scope is level horizontally the bottom of the OTA is level with my shoulder. And that is when RA is at it's lowest!!!!
If I mounted it at the front I will need a step ladder, but I wondered if there was a reason why people have them in different places.

when l set my newt up l first balance the main ota and then mount the guide scope in a position that retains balance in both axiis, this results in the guide scope being pretty much central but slightly to the rear of centre of the main scope as well as giving best access to the ep at all angles, well almost.

Looks like I will be either Centrally mounting it or maybe a little bit lower. I just wanted to check first in case there was some tricky reason or formula for mounting in different places. But it turns out it's a matter of what suits!
